After a happenstance date one night, John and Shari went to kiss each other goodbye. He went left, she went the opposite way and they ended up in the most passionate kiss of their lives.
Then John didn’t call.
Shari wanted to see him again so she researched horse events for that weekend and found an auction.
She called him with a story that her friend cancelled at the last minute, so she asked if he wanted to join her. He said sure!
Shari hooked up her trailer to the truck as an accessory and off they went to the auction.
It wasn’t until the last horse that Shari realized she’d have to put up her paddle for something! So she raised her paddle as the first bidder and lo and behold, no one bid against her.
So there she was, the winning bidder of a horse she did not need. The Mare was a pretty penny too!
As she approached the cashier she lamented “I could use a drink…”. Shari doesn’t drink unless it’s the perfect cocktail mind you. The bean counter behind the desk reached up without saying a word and grabbed the bottle of Makers Mark he had on his shelf.
Shari took a couple of gulps like it was water and within moments she could barely walk. John jumped right into action. Though he’d never been near a horse he led Sky right onto the trailer and drove them both home.
That’s how John learned how to ride. He took Sky on like he’d been doing it his whole life and their partnership lasted for 6 years until Sky retired.
